About Holy Infant Life Teen
What is Life Teen?
LIFE TEEN is a Catholic Youth Program designed for teens of all backgrounds. Our mission is to lead teens to Christ by experiencing His Glory and Love in the Eucharist, the Word of God, and the fellowship of a joyful community of believers. In addition to powerful weekly LIFE TEEN Masses and LIFE Nights, there are retreats, service projects, Worship Nights, Scripture Studies, Mission trips, and just good ol’ stupid fun for teens to experience week after week.
What is Holy Infant Youth Ministry?
HOLY INFANT YOUTH MINISTRY, firstly, is rad. Now that that is out of the way, Holy Infant youth ministry exists to REACH students, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help them GROW in their faith, and to challenge them to DISCOVER their ministry and HONOR God in their lives.
How does Holy Infant Youth Ministry do all that?
We have 3 regular programs each week during the school year along with lots of social and service related stuff. First, our regular stuff:
PB & J Nights – Tuesdays from 7 – 8:30 PM - Most common-folk understand this to be peanut butter and jelly. However, us edjumucated folk know this to be PRAISE, BIBLE & JAM. Every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, we get together, eat some peanut butter and jelly, socialize and chill. After having ample chill-time, we dive into praise and worship where we praise God for all our blessings and give Him thanks through song. Then, after that we dive into Scripture by reading and discussing the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. This helps everyone pay closer attention to the liturgy at Mass on Sunday.

Life Night – Sundays from 7 – 9 PM – Throughout the school year, we meet nearly every Sunday night ready to get down and dirty in learning more about the questions of our Catholic faith and traditions with hopes of learning more about it. Sunday night Life Nights strengthen the foundation of our personal spiritual growth and encourages each of us to seek answers for ourselves rather than believing without understanding. This Spring 2006 semester we’ll take a comical spin to things using channels like ESPN, TLC, QVC, VH1, E!, Food Network, Comedy Central and others to make the Sacred Scripture come alive in our world today. Be sure to drop in for two hours each Sunday night and get hooked on your faith before you miss the show!

John 21:12 – Thursdays @ 6 AM – Look it up yourself for a little extra gratification. I have to paraphrase it though, “Jesus said, ‘Come have breakfast…’” With that, we figured why not do what he told us to do? So, every Thursday morning at 6:00 AM, we meet in the chapel of the church for a quick Mass. By quick, I mean like 20 minutes. After the 20 minute Mass, we head over to the Donut Palace where we’re treated like royalty. It’s a great time, guaranteed! Sacrifice your Thursday morning to get your spiritual breakfast in the Eucharist and then your physical breakfast in donuts.

On top of the 3 regs, we do lots of special stuff. Read on, common-folk:
Social Stuff – We do a lot of fun stuff that doesn’t tax the brain cells too much. In the past, we’ve been known to take over bowling lanes and enjoy some COSMIC BOWLING, OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHTS, ICE SKATING, FLOAT TRIPS, PAINTBALLING, etc… You name it, we’ve either done or plan on doing it! These are great opportunities for all of us to have fun and get to know each other a lot better! All of our fun events are in the calendar. Check it out.

Service Stuff – Here at Holy Infant Youth Ministry, we’re pretty big on putting your heart where your faith is. People with all sorts of faith can help out their fellow human through serving the community at large. We work a lot with Neighbors Assisting Neighbors and the St. Louis Food Bank. We try to get one service opportunity in a month so that we don’t sit idle in our faith. Again, we specialize in making anything fun. If you doubt that statement, come give us a shot once and we’ll have you convinced! Pay attention to all our service opportunities in our calendar!

Retreats – Retreats are a huge hit around here. We have several retreats throughout the year ranging from our Ski Retreat to Colorado each year, ChristPower at Kenrick Glennon Seminary, Steubenville Conferences as well as other retreats that pop in and out of our calendar. All of these retreats require lots of planning on all parts and advanced payments and preparation. We offer the ability to make payments online now for all retreats and activities!
